General Couples Therapy
For couples who need more than surface-level help
Who This Is For
You're high-achieving professionals—successful in your careers, but your relationship is struggling. Maybe you're functional roommates who've lost connection. Maybe you fight constantly, or worse, you've stopped fighting altogether. You've tried the surface-level fixes. They didn't work.
How We Work
Assessment Phase: We begin with one session together as a couple, followed by individual sessions with each partner. I need to understand your patterns, your history, what's working and what isn't before we can create real change.
Weekly Sessions First: We start weekly. That's how momentum builds. As you demonstrate real movement outside of sessions, we reduce frequency together. Stepping down to biweekly or monthly reflects your progress, not a default schedule.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): EFT is research-backed and designed specifically for couples. It's about understanding attachment patterns and creating secure connection, not just communication tips.
Between-Session Work: Sessions create direction. Real change happens in your daily life. I give you specific tools and practices, and I expect you to use them. Progress outside the room is what we're measuring.
Accountability: When conversations start going in circles, I redirect them. When something is being avoided, we go there. I'll ask both of you to look at your own role in the pattern. That's not blame. It's the fastest path forward.
Flexible Scheduling: Evenings, weekends, emergency sessions when needed. Smaller caseload means more availability for you.
What We Address
- Communication breakdowns and chronic conflict
- Emotional disconnection and distance
- Life transitions (new baby, empty nest, career changes)
- Different conflict styles and attachment patterns
- Building sustainable relationship skills
What to Expect
This work is designed to create meaningful change and then end. Most couples see real progress within 8-12 sessions. Some choose to continue with periodic maintenance check-ins. Either way, the goal is your independence, not ongoing therapy. Staying in sessions should always be a deliberate choice, not a default.
Investment
